Implications of Jesus coming

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

We hope you have had a wonderful celebration of Jesus coming! Two days ago, we finished our series of advent devotions focusing on different professions in the Christmas story recorded in the gospel of Luke. Regardless of their social position or professions, the Jesus-followers whom we meet in the New Testament collaborated to make known the Savior who was born.

Now it is our turn to live out the implications of Jesus’ coming. This is done through our celebrations, but still, to the greatest extent, through our daily lives. Today, we ask you to reflect on how you, through life and work, can witness the one who came as good news to the entire world.

Let us continue to celebrate the savior who was born!

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for the diverse professions that played crucial roles in the story of Jesus' birth. Help me so I, like those who took part in the Christmas story, can reflect who Jesus is through my work, life, and relationships. Make me into living witnesses about who you are so I can share the good news of hope, love, and peace that Jesus’ birth brought to everyone. Amen.
