Where is your place of Worship?
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 (NIV)
When we think of a place of worship, our minds naturally gravitate toward images of churches and temples—places where believers gather to praise and thank God. But have you ever considered your workplace as a place of worship? Paul writes to the believers in Rome: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
This scripture reminds us that what we do in our everyday lives, including our work, matters to God. Since we spend a significant amount of time at work, it becomes a prime opportunity to glorify God—through the quality of our work, the respect we show to customers and coworkers, and the Christ-like love we demonstrate in all our interactions.
Everything we do—from the most mundane tasks to leading major projects—can be an act of worship. Whether you’re a blue-collar worker or the director of a multinational company, God’s will is that we are faithful to the responsibilities He has given us. The more Christians embrace the idea of their workplace as a place of worship, the more we will see God’s Kingdom transform our society.
A core verse for the Tent movement is found in Colossians 3:16:
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

How would reimagining your workplace as a place of worship change how you approach your daily work?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, give us the strength to work diligently, the wisdom to make decisions that honour You, and the love to treat others with kindness and respect. May our work bring You glory and further Your Kingdom on earth. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
